Agglomeration Solutions

Supporting the agglomeration of fine materials we offer a complete process solution that
can be integrated into your existing plant or as a specific standalone process plant.

DRYING – MIR (MEDIUM WAVE INFRARED)

Infrared (IR) radiation is electromagnetic radiation whose wavelength is longer than that of visible light, but shorter than
that of microwaves. It derives its name from Latin. The ‘infra’ meaning ‘below’ refers to the wavelengths just below
the red end of the visible spectrum, ‘infra-red’. Infrared is a very radiant form of heating. A good infrared heat source
has the ability to heat objects directly, it travels at the speed of light without heating the air between.
Infrared heating is generally split into three categories, Short, Medium and Long wave infrared.

Benefits of using IR Electric

1. One of the main benefits of using infrared is the fact that it requires low maintenance. It is purely resistance heating and has no moving parts.
2. Instant heat, no need to wait for heat build up.
3. It is clean, there are no by-products as opposed to the combustion of fossil fuels.
4. Reduced operating costs.
5. Safe, there is no open flame, has no moving parts, there is no danger of leaks on fuel lines and there is no danger of toxic byproducts of combustion.
6. This process also lends itself to increasing the drying efficiencies encounted on slurry type substrates were the top section creates an impenetrable heat resistant layer.
